NBI eyes guest in Room 2207 as state witness in Dacera case

The 13th guest of Room 2207, one of the Makati hotel rooms occupied by flight attendant Christine Dacera the day she was found unconscious on January 1, has appeared before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and is expected to shed light on the incident.

According to a report on “State of the Nation" on Friday, the person of interest asked to be fetched at Tacloban so he would be able to give his testimony.

Based on information given by a source to GMA News, the individual may be turned into a state witness for the case once his testimony has been verified.

He will also be asked to take a polygraph test.

Dacera was found unconscious in the bathtub of Room 2209 at the City Garden Grand Hotel in Makati where she celebrated New Year’s Eve with her friends.  She was later pronounced dead in the hospital.

Security camera footage from the hotel showed Dacera being repeatedly fetched from Room 2207 by one of her friends hours before her death.

Twelve occupants of Room 2207 have gone to the NBI.

The NBI previously said it has identified the occupants of Room 2207 but refused to name them.

Dacera’s family believes she was drugged and sexually abused. Her friends, however, have denied the allegations, saying that they were the ones who took care of the victim when she was drunk.

Meanwhile, the Makati Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday started its preliminary investigation on the criminal complaint against the men who were with Dacera. —Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
