Ipo Dam to release water amid rains due to Rolly — PAGASA


Ipo Dam is set to release water on Sunday afternoon as it nears reaching its maximum water level amid the rains due to Super Typhoon Rolly, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

In a 9 a.m. update, PAGASA Hydrometeorology Division said the Ipo Dam Management will conduct a spilling operation with an approximate discharge of 47 cubic meters per second at 4 p.m.

As of 8 a.m., PAGASA said the water level in Ipo Dam already reached 100.58 m and may rise further due to the super typhoon. The normal high water level for Ipo Dam is set at 101 m.

It advised residents in low-lying areas and near the riverbank of Angat River like Norzagaray, Angat, San Rafael, Bustos, Baluiag, Pulilan, Plaridel, and Hagonoy to be prepared and alert in case the water level rises.

Based on PAGASA’s 6 a.m. update, Ambuklao, Binga , Magat Dam already opened some gates amid the rainfall.
