Fr. Sonny Ramirez passes away at 74
Father Erasmo “Sonny” Ramirez passed away on Saturday at 74 years old, his nephew, Eric Ramirez, confirmed.
“My heart is in a lot of hurt this evening with the very sad news of my Uncle passing away. Deep down I know he is with his best friend, the Lord. I can imagine him enjoying himself with his brothers and parents.,” Eric said in a public post on Facebook.
“I truly wish we could have had more time spent together despite our physical distance,” he added.
Ramirez, who was born on October 10, 1945, died days before his birthday on October 31 due to undisclosed reasons.
“Rest In Peace Tito Sonny Ramirez. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Please watch over us until we meet again… For those that knew him, please join me in prayers,” Eric said.
The Colegio de San Juan de Letran also paid tribute to Ramirez who was one of its alumni.
“We pray for the eternal repose of the soul of Fr. Sonny Ramirez, OP, Letran alumnus,” the institution said in a Twitter post.

Ramirez was also an awardee of the Letran Grandes Figuras in 2017, an award given to alumni for being successful in their chosen field. -MDM, GMA News
