VP’s office again receives highest audit rating from COA
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) received the highest audit rating from the Commission on Audit (COA) anew for Fiscal Year 2019.
Citing a report signed by Supervising Auditor Edna P. Salaguban on July 31, the OVP said COA rendered an “unqualified opinion” on the fairness of the presentation of the OVP’s financial statement .
In auditing terms, a company or agency receives an "unqualified opinion" or "clean opinion" when an auditor determines that its financial records are free of misrepresentations and comply with accounting principles.
The OVP noted that its office has its own internal controls for a more prudent spending of public funds. Aside from this, it also observes the rules and regulations set by oversight agencies.
“Moreover, the OVP has sustained its ISO 9001:2015 accreditation, which it pursued in 2017, in a bid to streamline its processes, improve its various units, and promote a sense of honor and commitment among its staff,” it added. — Joviland Rita/BM, GMA News
