Gamboa mum on next government post, possible extension as PNP chief
Philippine National Police chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa has kept his silence over speculations that he will be assigned to another government post after his term as the nation's top cop.
In a television interview on Wednesday, Gamboa was asked for his comment on rumors that he might be assigned as director of the National Bureau of Investigation when he retires from the police service in September.
"Police General Attorney Archie Francisco Gamboa is at the disposal of the government," Gamboa told ANC.
He was also asked to comment regarding the possibility that his term as PNP chief will be extended, to which he said that matter is under the discretion of President Rodrigo Duterte.
"I would just work and I submit to the wisdom of the President or to other people kung ano ang gusto nila. Basta, I'm here at the disposal of government," Gamboa said.
"Ayoko na mag-comment... I will just work up to the time when I am needed..." he added.
Gamboa, who belongs to the Philippine Military Academy "Sinagtala" Class of 1986, is set to retire on September 2. —LBG, GMA News
