Pampanga's Pineda warns of return to GCQ or ECQ over COVID-19 cases
Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda warned of a possible return to a province-wide general community quarantine, or even an enhanced community quarantine, if COVID-19 cases continued to rise.
According to Mai Bermudez's Saturday report on 24 Oras Weekend, COVID-19 cases in Pampanga rose to 133, with most of the 25 news cases being workers from Metro Manila who had returned to the province.
Pineda thus appealed to his province-mates with jobs in the National Capital Region to follow health protocols when they head home.
The Pampanga governor also warned COVID-19 patients who had opted to quarantine themselves at home to take the restrictions placed on them more seriously.
“Kayo pong nagpupumilit mag home quarantine, pag nalaman po namin na lumabas kayo at may nahawa kayo, kakasuhan po namin kayo,” said Pineda.
Following the governor's warnings, control points across the province returned to stricter enforcement of health checks. — DVM, GMA News
