RapidPass validity extended until December 31
The validity of all RapidPass QR codes issued to health workers and those working in essential industries have been extended until the end of the year, according to the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
“[A]ll RapidPass QR codes that are valid until June 30, 2020 will have their validity extended until December 31, 2020, unless otherwise revoked by a subsequent issuance from the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) or the agency concerned,” the DICT said in an advisory.
The DICT added that the extension will automatically apply to all RapidPass users whether or not they receive an SMS or email notification regarding the extension.
Launched on April 6, the RapidPass system enables frontliners to have their QR codes scanned for them to be allowed to pass through government checkpoints.
The RapidPass can be requested by frontliners or authorized personnel through the website RapidPass.ph. —Ma. Angelica Garcia/LDF, GMA News
