Philippine Science HS opens QC campus to children's hospital's patients, employees
The Quezon City campus of the Philippine Science High School has opened its doors to employees and patients of the Philippine Children’s Medical Center amid the COVID-19 emergency, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said Tuesday.
“Kahapon nakatanggap ako ng magandang balita mula sa alma mater ko, ang Philippine Science High School, na pumayag na gamitin ang Quezon City campus para sa pasyente at empleyado ng Philippine Children’s Medical Center o PCMC,” said Nograles, spokesperson for the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease, at a virtual press briefing.
Both the school and the hospital are located along Agham Road in Quezon City.
“Pisay is not the only school that has opened their doors and opened their arms for our medical frontliners; the nurses and health workers of Medical City, for example, have found a new home in La Salle Greenhills,” Nograles said.
“May we all be inspired by their examples and open our hearts to those stricken by Covid-19 and those who care for them.”
Several churches and convents in Metro Manila have also welcomed medical frontliners who are battling COVID-19, a respiratory illness that has already killed 163 people in the Philippines. --KBK, GMA News
