PIDS employee among new COVID-19 cases
An employee of the Philippine Institute For Development Studies (PIDS) is among those who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In an advisory posted on Facebook Thursday, the institute said that the patient is now in hospital.
PIDS also said it has implemented necessary preventive measures, such as the work-from-home policy until March 19, the disinfection of the workplace premises, as well as contact tracing.
"The building management shall also conduct a routine disinfection of all common areas," the institute said.
It also announced that all officials and staff members will continue their work "through telecommunication platforms."
PIDS said it also advised staff members who had direct contact with the patient to undergo self-quarantine or visit a healthcare professional if they are experiencing symptoms of the COVID-19.
The institute said it is closely coordinating with the Quezon City Health Office and the Department of Health.
