President Rodrigo Duterte poses with a bronze sculpture of his likeness bearing a pistol raised and seemingly ready to shoot.

Sen. Christopher "Bong" Go, former special assistant to the President, posted photos on his social media account.

The caption reads, Ready to shoot si Tatay Digong!!! Sa mga masasamang elemento! --- Kuya BONG GO."

The sculpture, Go said in a statement, was inspired by Duterte's work against criminal elements.

"Inspired by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte's unparalleled dedication to keep the innocent from lawlessness and oppression, PMGEN GILBERT CRUZ birthed the concept of this artwork which was brought to life by ARTIST LUCKY SALAYOG, as a representation of Tatay Digong's firm stand to uphold the best interest of the Filipino people against corruption and abuse."
