GMA Regional TV newscasts Balitang Amianan and Balitang Bisdak are top local news sources in 2019
More and more Kapuso in the regions are tuning in to GMA Regional TV’s award-winning local news programs with GMA Regional TV Balitang Amianan in North Central Luzon and GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak in Eastern and Central Visayas winning in their respective areas throughout 2019.
Data from Nielsen TV Audience Measurement showed that from January to December 2019, GMA Regional TV Balitang Amianan posted an average people rating of 5.5 percent in MCTAM Dagupan, toppling its rival program ABS-CBN TV Patrol North Luzon’s 4.2 percent.
In the Visayas region, ending 2019 on a high note as well was GMA Regional TV’s local flagship news program GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak, earning an average people rating of 7.2 percent in MCTAM Cebu. Its counterpart TV Patrol Central Visayas only managed to get an average people rating of 6.7 percent.
GMA Regional TV Balitang Amianan is anchored by seasoned TV journalist CJ Torida, award-winning local news correspondent Joanne Ponsoy, and news presenter Jasmin Gabriel-Galban. Providing reports are GMA Regional TV’s local news teams led by regional correspondents King Guevarra, Russel Simorio, Ivy Hernando, and Kim Bandarlipe, as well as news stringers across North Central Luzon.
Meanwhile, GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak is anchored by tri-media personality Bobby Nalzaro, award-winning local news correspondent Alan Domingo, and news presenter Cecille Quibod-Castro. Joining them are various local news teams led by regional correspondents Chona Carreon, Lou Ann Mae Rondina, and Nikko Sereno, with local news stringers based in different parts of Central and Eastern Visayas.

On top of winning the ratings in 2019, GMA Regional TV also made its local newscasts available to more viewers nationwide through “GMA Regional TV Weekend News”, which airs every Saturday at 5 p.m. on leading news channel GMA News TV.
At the same time, GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak and GMA Regional TV Balitang Amianan—together with GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas and GMA Regional TV One Mindanao—launched their respective fresh new look and levelled-up content, veering away from traditional methods of news reporting through more relaxed news sets. All four newscasts also opened their studios to the public to have viewers participate as live audience every Friday.
GMA Regional TV Balitang Amianan is simultaneously broadcasted in key cities and provinces in North Central Luzon, thru GMA Network’s local channels GMA TV 10 Dagupan, GMA TV 5 Ilocos Norte, GMA TV 48 Ilocos Sur, and GMA TV 7 Abra. It airs from Monday to Friday at 5 p.m.
Meanwhile, GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak airs from Monday to Friday at 5 p.m. It features comprehensive and in-depth delivery of news and information in Central and Eastern Visayas—Cebu, Leyte, Siquijor, Bohol, and parts of Negros Oriental—which is broadcasted thru GMA Network’s local channels GMA 7 Cebu, GMA 10 Tacloban, GMA 11 Bohol, and GMA 12 Ormoc
Both newscasts have been earning various awards throughout the years. GMA Regional TV Balitang Amianan received an Anak TV Seal in 2019 for being wholesome and child-safe. “Pit Senyor: Sinulog Festival—The GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak Special Live Coverage” also took home an Anak TV Seal that year. The said special was also a finalist in the Best Special Event Coverage category at the 41st Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA).
