Areas reached by ash fall from Taal Volcano’s phreatic eruption

Ash fall from Taal Volcano's phreatic eruption on Sunday has reached several areas in Luzon.

According to the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), these areas are:

• Cavite
• Batangas
• Rizal
• Northwestern portion of Quezon
• Metro Manila
• Bulacan
• Pampanga
• Bataan
• Tarlac
• Nueva Ecija
• Eastern portion of Pangasinan
• Southeastern portion of Zambales

MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim advised the public to exercise caution when going outdoors.

“'Wag munang lumabas ng bahay hangga't maaari. Magsuot ng face masks at siguraduhing sarado ang mga bintana sa bahay,” he said.

The Department of Health earlier released guidelines on how to deal with ash fall. 

Alert Level 4, meaning hazardous eruption is imminent, was raised over the Taal Volcano at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. — Julia Mari Ornedo/BM, GMA News
