Ash fall from Taal Volcano reaches parts of Metro Manila —NDRRMC
The ash fall from the phreatic eruption of the Taal Volcano on Sunday has now reached Metro Manila, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.
NDRRMC spokesperson Mark Timbal said the ash fall is already affecting the National Capital Region's southern cities.
“Ni-report din ng kasamahan natin na nakitira doon sa Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, may nakaabot din na balita na also in Parañaque and Taguig, may naka-experience na po ng ash fall,” he said.
“It appears na ‘yung wind direction doon sa area above Taal… dinadala na nila ‘yung ash.”
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) raised Alert Level 3 over the volcano at 4 p.m. Sunday.
