Angat Dam still below target level, says PAGASA
The water level at Angat Dam is still below the target level of the National Water Resources Board (NWRB), state weather bureau PAGASA said.
According to Joseph Morong's Wednesday report on "24 Oras," the water level at Metro Manila's main source of fresh water was at 198 meters or below the target of 212 meters.
The water level also improves by only 0.1 meter per day.
PAGASA hydrologist Elmer Caringal said the Angat Dam may not reach the target of 212 meters by the end of the year due to insufficient rainfall.
Caringal added that Angat Dam, which is located in Bulacan, saw minimal rainfall since Typhoon Ursula hit the Visayas region.
"Mayroon kaming nakikita kahit konting biyaya ni Ursula is madagdagan ito sa Angat Dam ng I think one to two meters," Caringal said.
PAGASA added that Typhoon Tisoy only contributed seven meters of water to the dam.
Meanwhile, Maynilad Water Services ,Manila Water Inc., Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System and the NWRB have yet to respond to this issue. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
