GMA reporter JP Soriano wins gold at first-ever Labor Media Awards


GMA News reporter JP Soriano received high recognition from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) at the first-ever Labor Media Awards held in Manila last December 3.

According to DOLE, Soriano bagged the Gold Award for Best in Reporting for "his series of reports on countering illegal recruitment and human trafficking special reports."

DOLE, which is celebrating its 86th anniversary, said the Labor Media Awards "aims to recognise members of mainstream media who contributed high impact documentation of DOLE programs and services."

In their press release, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III explained that the awards aim to "increase mainstream media documentation and reporting of DOLE high impact events and activities by giving due recognition to the best and outstanding published works of our friends from media."
