Star City management pegs fire damage at P1B

The management of Star City has estimated the damage to the theme park at P1 billion, its spokesman said on Wednesday.

The Bureau of Fire Protection, however, has pegged its estimate at P15 million pending further investigation.

Spokesperson Ed de Leon said 25 rides and attractions in Star City’s covered area were damaged by the fire. These include Gabi ng Lagim, Dungeon of Terror, Bump Car Smash, and Snow World.

The outdoor area which houses the park’s extreme rides such as Star Flyer and Star Frisbee was mostly spared by the fire.

The BFP, for its part, said it would only be able to compute the actual damage once the amusement park’s management submits the pertinent documents to them. —Julia Mari Ornedo/NB, GMA News
