Sen. Pacquiao won't attend SONA, wife Jinkee says

Senator Manny Pacquiao won't be attending the State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday following his victorious boxing match against Keith Thurman in Las Vegas, USA Sunday, his wife Jinkee Pacquiao says.

"Hindi na siya makadalo sa SONA. Masakit ang mata now at saka 'di payag ang doctor," Pacquiao's staff quoted Jinkee as saying in a text message.

"Makauwi daw siya pwede sa Sunday night pa," she added.

According to GMA News reporter Mav Gonzales, the people's champ hurt his eye during the fight.

The 40-year-old boxing icon and senator defeated Thurman via split decision.
