Bam Aquino returns to Magic 12 in Comelec tally

Reelectionist Senator Paolo Benigno ‘Bam’ Aquino IV found his way back to the Magic 12 of the Senate race Thursday, in the latest partial, official count of the National Board of Canvassers, composed of the Commission on Elections chairman and commissioners.

As of 9:30 p.m., Aquino received 11,001,047 votes.

Aquino was also on the 12th slot when the first batch of certificates of canvass were tallied on Tuesday night, before dropping to 13th place on Wednesday.

Reelectionist Senators Cynthia Villar and Grace Poe continue to cement their slot on the top of the pile with 19,383,224 and 17,043,889 votes, respectively.

Former special assistant to the president Bong Go was still on the third spot with 15,685,847 votes, followed by Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano with 15,330,363 votes, and former Philippine National Police chief Ronald dela Rosa with 14,529,585 votes.

Former senator Bong Revilla was on the 13th spot with 10,988,697 votes, followed by JV Ejercito with 10,984,412, and Jinggoy Estrada with 8,654,021 votes.

The canvassed votes were from 107 electronically transmitted  certificates of canvass across the country and Philippine posts abroad.

As of Thursday evening, 129 certificates of canvass have been received by the NBOC.

A total of 167 certificates of canvass are expected to be sent to the NBOC, of which 130 will be electronically submitted.

During the canvassing, the tabulation and audit group noted minor discrepancies between the certificate of canvass and statement of votes from Cairo,Egypt; Dhaka, Bangladesh; The Hague, Netherlands; Jakarta, Indonesia; and Dilli, Timor Leste.
