Some voters mistook me for Abby when she quarreled with Junjun —Nancy Binay
Senator Nancy Binay on Thursday admitted that the political and personal feud between her siblings Abby and Junjun, who both ran for Makati City mayor hurt her chances to rank higher in the senatorial race.
Asked what she thought caused her to only rank 12th spot in the 2019 senatorial race when she was an incumbent, Nancy said she didn't have the machinery enjoyed by candidates of the ruling PDP-Laban and those endorsed by Sara Duterte's Hugpong ng Pagbabago.
I am not part of the admin slate," Nancy said.
She then narrated how she was confronted by some voters, especially those in the provinces, for supposedly picking a quarrel with her brother.
"Kasi diba magkakamukha kami? Nancy said.
Nancy actually took Junjun's side in his mayoral bid against their sister, the incumbent local chief executive Abigail.
Their father, longtime Makati mayor and former Vice President Jejomar Binay, was in the camp of the reelectionist mayor during the campaign.
"I had to divide my time sa campaigning kasi kailangan ko rin tulungan yung kapatid ko. Tapos nagkaroon pa ng kaguluhan sa dalawa," Nancy said. —NB, GMA News
