Labor leader Ka Leody De Guzman concedes defeat in Senate race

Labor Win senatorial candidate Leody De Guzman on Tuesday conceded defeat in the 2019 midterm elections.

In a statement, the labor leader expressed gratitude to those who supported and voted for him.

Despite defeat, De Guzman expressed elation that he had touched the hearts of the youth and labor groups.

As of 11:26 a.m. Tuesday, partial and unofficial results on the Commission on Elections transparency server showed that De Guzman garnered 864,556 votes, making him 38th in the Senate race.

De Guzman claimed that laborers are happy with the Labor Win slate as the candidates of the party are the real champions of the workers' rights.

He vowed to continue fighting for the welfare of the workers. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KG, GMA News
