University of Cebu grad tops Civil Engineer board exams
A graduate of the University of Cebu (UC) hurdled the May 2019 Civil Engineer Licensure Examination with flying colors as he bested more than 3,000 successful examinees.
According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), 8,855 took the examinations in various testing centers in the country this month and 3,372 passed.
UC's Ronie Tanilon Tarriga II garnered 95.20 percent to make it to first place. His schoolmate, Jober Sumalinog dela Cruz, made it to tenth place with a score of 92.15.
UC Chancellor Candice Gotianuy posted her congratulatory message to the two graduates who made it to the Top Ten list.
"First and 10th places in the Civil Engineering exams go to UC! Congratulations to Ronie Tarriga and Robert Dela Cruz!," Gotianuy said.
In second place is John Francis Viloria Pedroso, 94.60, from the Mindanao State University - Gen. Santos City followed by Reymart Arcenal Refil (94.15) from the Cebu Institute of Technology, Glenndell John Villantes Beringuel (94) from Lyceum of the Philippines - Gen. Trias, Cavite, and Jay Em Gargar Pagtulon-an (93.6) from Xavier University.
The rest of the successful examinees who made it to the top ten are: Mapua University (FOR M.I.T.) Manila graduates Ralph Christian Navarro Nono (93.3), Jules-Renan Ayala Montano (93.2), and Mark Alexander Gachalian Bundang (92.75), University of San Jose-Recoletos' Rod Jayson Sanchez Badayos (92.3).
The PRC also reported that the results of examination of 39 examinees were withheld pending the final determination of liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examination. The agency also withheld the result of one examinee until necessary documents have been properly reconstituted and submitted.
