PDEA agents in slay of party drug dealer Pasion to get cash reward —Duterte
President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday said he would give cash rewards to agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) following the killing of a supplier of party drugs in a buy-bust operation on Monday.
Speaking at the PDP-Laban campaign rally in Cauayan City, Isabela, Duterte said PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino relayed to him on Tuesday night the death of the big-time party drug dealer Steve "John" Pasion.
"Sabi ko, announce mo one million five kasi mukhang tatlo ata ang patay. Mukhang tatlo. Sabi ko may prize kayo," Duterte said.
Pasion, who was allegedly a big-time supplier of party drugs in Metro Manila, was killed after resisting arrest during a buy-bust operation at the parking lot of his residence in Sta. Cruz, Manila on Monday evening.
His girlfriend Sophie Mercado was arrested.
Authorities seized 15 tablets of suspected ecstasy worth P30,000, sachets of suspected cocaine and P300,000 worth of suspected shabu, a kilogram of shabu worth P6 million, three bottles of liquid ecstasy worth P75,000.
Two celebrities are now being investigated by PDEA due to their alleged involvement in Pasion's drug activities.
PDEA Special Enforcement Service director Levi Ortiz on Tuesday refused to identify the celebrities whose names were seen in the cellphone of Pasion.
Ortiz said they have been monitoring the two celebrities for quite some time as there were previous reports about their alleged involvement to illegal drugs. —NB, GMA News
