Navy tests new missile system

The Philippine Navy conducted on Wednesday a demonstration of its newly-bought Spike-ER missile system, according to a report on "News To Go."

The live-fire capability demonstration was led by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and Navy flag officer in command Vice Admiral Robert Empedrad.

Two missiles were test-fired against targets floating on the sea this Wednesday morning.

Spike-ER missile system has an eight-kilometer range with a fire-and-forget targeting system.

Each missile costs P11 million.

It might not be able to make huge ships sink, but it can cause great damage, the report said.
