Nancy sides with Junjun as Binay vs. Binay takes shape in Makati

Senator Nancy Binay appears to have taken the side of her brother Junjun in the latter's brewing mayoralty fight against their sister, incumbent Makati City Mayor Abby Binay.

According to Dano Tingcungco's report on "24 Oras", Nancy accompanied Junjun when he filed his certificate of candidacy for mayor.

"Di ko na kailangan ipaliwanag. The mere fact that I'm here is already a statement," Nancy told reporters.

Nancy's show of support for the former Makati mayor was not lost on the incumbent.

"If you go with your brother or whoever candidate, whether it be a brother or a third person, the fact that youre there in the filing is already a show of support," Abby said.

Their father, longtime Makati mayor and former Vice President Jejomar "Jojo" Binay, has said that he would stay neutral in the Binay-versus-Binay battle for city hall.

Abby will file her certificate for candidacy on Wednesday. It is still not clear whether any member of her family will join her when she does. —NB, GMA News
