Marcos, Arroyo, Duterte artwork in Martial Law rally
Artwork and banners depicting President Rodrigo Duterte and former presidents Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and Ferdinand Marcos stood out during the rally marking the declaration of Martial Law in the Philippines 46 years ago.
There were several such posters brought by protesters, who wanted to show the similarities and relationship between the three.
One large painting showed the three presidents with sharp teeth, and Duterte with a long tongue with trains as horns.
Flags of the United States and Chine served as their backdrop.
Another painting was eye-catching in its details. Duterte was shown connected to both Arroyo and Marcos and maggots and roaches were painted around them.
A set of posters of Duterte, Arroyo, and Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. set beside each other were also noticeable in the crowd.
They each listed down descriptions of each leader. “Dutirty” was called “diktador, mamamatay-tao, pasista, tuta ng China at US, tunay na terorista.”
Protesters were able to play darts with the faces of the leaders for P21.
Each balloon had behind them smaller posters showing the issues the country is facing such as the rice crisis, extrajudicial killings, and war.
Aside from the paintings, protesters also called out Duterte for being Marcos’ “puppy.”
They also chanted “Duterte, Marcos, walang pinag-iba.” —JST, GMA News
