Antipolo judge named Sandiganbayan justice
President Rodrigo Duterte has promoted an Antipolo City judge to the Sandiganbayan, the court that tries and resolves graft cases against public officials and employees.
Duterte named Antipolo City Regional Trial Court Judge Kevin Narce Vivero to the post vacated by Samuel Martires, who was elevated to the Supreme Court in March last year, according to the appointment paper released by Malacañang on Monday.
Martires is the President’s first appointee to the 15-man high tribunal.
Apart from Vivero, Duterte also appointed new judges and prosecutors for the Department of Justice (DOJ).
He also named Ruben Reinoso Jr. as undersecretary of the Department of Transportation, Allen Capuyan as Presidential Adviser for Indigenous People’s Concerns, and Jose Arturo Garcia Jr. as general manager of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
Akmad Sakkam was named as ambassador to Jordan, with concurrent jurisdiction over Palestine while Sulpicio Miguel Confiado was appointed as ambassador to Egypt, with concurrent jurisdictions over Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Sudan. —KG/ALG, GMA News
