Bong Go scores a selfie with Chinese leader Xi Jinping

Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go has added Chinese President Xi Jinping to his growing list of world leaders he has taken selfies with.

Go scored a photograph with Xi, leader of the world’s second largest economy, on the sidelines of the Boao Forum for Asia on Tuesday in the southern province of Hainan that was attended by President Rodrigo Duterte.

Xi reportedly inquired about Duterte and Go’s Chinese roots during one conversation, according to a post in the Go Na Tayo Facebook page, an online community that is urging the Palace official to run for senator in the 2019 midterm elections.

Aside from Xi, Go previously took individual snaps with American president Donald Trump, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, and Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, among other global political leaders.

Go’s efforts had not gone unnoticed as the Washington Post, one of the leading US broadsheets, had called him a “selfie savant” in an article last year.

Social media giant Facebook had also allowed users to include Go’s face in their profile picture. —KBK, GMA News
