Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno is joining the oral arguments on the quo warrant petition filed against her by Solicitor General Jose Calida on Tuesday afternoon.
The oral arguments, which will be held at the Supreme Court Session Hall in Baguio City, will start at 2 p.m.
Calida is questioning the validity of Sereno's appointment in 2012 over her alleged lack of integrity for failing to "declare her assets and liabilities in accordance with law."
The solicitor general is referring to Sereno's failure to submit before the Judicial and Bar Council her Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Networth (SALN) during her stind as a professor at the University of the Philippines when she was applying for the position.
He claimed Sereno is a "de facto public officer" and is "unlawfully" holding her post.
Sereno had said that looking for SALNs during her teaching years at the university is "absurd."
The Chief Justice had also asked at least five SC justices to inhibit from the quo warranto proceedings due to alleged bias.
