Pinoy Catholics mark Easter with traditional ‘Salubong’
Filipino Catholics all over the country welcome the feast of the Risen Jesus with the traditional "Salubong," simultaneously happening at churches before dawn on Easter Sunday.
The traditional “Salubong” is the reenactment of the Biblical account of the Risen Jesus reuniting with his Mother Mary.

The Salubong is preceded by the Easter Vigil, where devotees stay awake in prayer and jubilation to welcome the Christ, the Risen Jesus.
