PNPA artists give Robredo a portrait by painter-cadet

Vice President Leni Robredo has received a painting by a “self-taught” painter among the cadets of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).

The portrait was given to the Vice President on Wednesday by the PNPA Council of Artists before the 39th Commencement Exercises of PNPA Maragtas Class of 2018 at Camp General Mariano Castañeda in Silang, Cavite.

The artist behind what Robredo called a “masterpiece” is Cadet Fourth Class Don Carlo Labastida of Davao City.

Robredo also had a chance to talk and snap a photo with the Top 20 cadets of the PNPA Maragtas Class of 2018.

She bestowed the Vice Presidential Kampilan Award and a plaque of merit to the salutatorian, Francis Pang-ay Fagkang who decided to join the Philippine National Police.

Robredo and President Rodrigo Duterte attended the PNPA Maragtang Class of 2018 Graduation rites.

A total of 106 cadets — 79 male and 27 female — have been commissioned in their respective service bureaus. They have also been conferred with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Public Safety. —NB, GMA News
