Bulacan police probing 3 persons of interest in deadly armored van heist
Police are considering as persons of interest three of the four individuals on board the hijacked armored van in Balagtas, Bulacan on Friday night.
In a Balitanghali report by Rida Reyes, Balagtas police officer-in-charge Chief Inspector Restituto Granil said they are investigating the team leader, pickup teller and the security escort who left all at the same time to collect money from a bank before the armed van was attacked by armed men.
Gunmen commandeered the armored van, killed its driver, and ran away with an estimated P6 million cash.
Initial police investigation showed that six gunmen, posing as security guards, commandeered the armored van, which was later abandoned along Mc Arthur Highway.
The local police said security personnel of the Royal Mandarin Security and the Armored Transport Plus, Inc. ATPI, which owns the armoved van, are also being investigated.
It said the armored van robbery could be an injside job because there were no signs of forcible opening of the van's vault.
Meanwhile, the body of slain driver Jorlito Alarba has been brought to his home in Rodriguez, Rizal.
Alarba's is seeking assistance from his employer.
