ASEAN leaders, dialogue partners arriving for the 31st Summit
Heads of state and government from nine members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations are expected to arrive in the Philippines for the 31st ASEAN Leaders Summit and Related Meetings starting this weekend.
Dialogue partners of the 10-member regional block, including US President Donald Trump, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Chinese Premiere Li Keqiang, South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are also attending the summit and related meetings.
Around 60,000 security personnel from 21 government agencies are responsible for the security of the delegates during the events from November 11 to 14.
The Philippines chairs the series of meetings and events this year which coincides with the 50th founding anniversary of ASEAN. — VDS/KBK, GMA News
