Duterte names Kintanar as next Air Force commanding general

President Rodrigo Duterte has tapped Lieutenant General Galileo Gerard Kintanar Jr. to be the next commanding general of the Philippines Air Force, Armed Forces of the Philippines chief General Eduardo Año said Monday.

Año described Kintanar as a silent worker and a strategic thinker.

“Silent worker din ito at magaling, strategic thinker at also tested ace pilot din ito ng Philippine Air Force. I believe the reforms, initiatives, and programs of the PAF started by his predecessors, particularly Lieutenant General (Edgar) Fallorino, maitutuloy niya iyan,” he said.

Duterte is set to lead the change of command and retirement ceremony for Fallorina Tuesday afternoon at the Air Force City, Clark Airbase, Mabalacat, Pampanga.

Prior to his appointment as PAF commanding general, Kintanar was picked to head the Western Command in Puerto Princesa, Palawan in August.

He also served as chief of staff of PAF.
