Undated photos of Abdullah Maute surface

Following reports that Abdullah Maute—one of the prominent members of the ISIS-linked Maute group—was one of those terminated during an airstrike in Marawi, GMA News has obtained photos of him that might prove he is still alive.

According to a report by Ian Cruz on GMA's "24 Oras Weekend" on Sunday, the Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) conducted an airstrike in an area in Marawi believed to be the location of Abdullah's lair.

The same report revealed that a source sent photos to GMA News, showing Abdullah Maute and other members of the terrorist group, alive.

However, there was no additional information given regarding the photographs, including when they were taken and where.

According to a report by Ian Cruz on Unang Balita on Monday, Wesmincom chief Lieutenant General Carlito Galvez said four of their sources said Abdullah Maute was hit during an airstrike on August 26. —Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM/KG, GMA News
