Sara Duterte stands by husband Mans Carpio vs. Trillanes’ allegations

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is not buying the allegations of Senator Antonio Trillanes against her husband, Attorney Manases Carpio.

According to a 24 Oras report on Wednesday, Sara refuted Trillanes' claims that her husband was involved in the alleged corruption at the Bureau of Customs (BOC), including the P6.4-billion shabu shipment from China.

On Tuesday, Trillanes said Carpio received bribe money to facilitate the swift entry and release of shipments at the BOC.

The senator added that according to his informants, Carpio visited the office of former Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon five times late last year to early this year.

Meanwhile, Sara believes that Carpio visited the office of Faeldon for the sole purpose of representing his clients.

Carpio already dismissed Trillanes' accusations, noting that it was part of his job as a lawyer to go to government offices for his clients. —Anna Felicia Bajo/NB, GMA News
