Joey Marquez's son gets post in Duterte administration

President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Jeremy Marquez, the son of former Parañaque City Mayor Joey Marquez, as deputy secretary general of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council.

Duterte signed Marquez’s appointment paper on August 10.

Marquez had been the barangay captain of BF Homes in Parañaque City for three terms. He ran for vice mayor under the Nacionalista Party and supported Duterte’s presidential bid in the May 2016 elections, but lost to Liberal Party’s Jose Enrico Golez.

Aside from Marquez, Duterte also gave another post to his former professor Jose David Lapuz.

Lapuz was appointed as member representing the educational, scientific and cultural agencies of the government to the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines, which is under the Department of Foreign Affairs.

His appointment letter was also signed on August 10.
