Ex-actress Azenith Briones to Resorts World: Help other victims’ kin too

Former actress Azenith Briones, who lost her husband in the Resorts World Manila tragedy, on Thursday appealed to the hotel-casino's management to extend the same assistance it has been giving her, to others who experienced the same situation.

In an interview with GMA News Online, Briones said the company has been helping her family, especially with all the expenses that they have so far incurred when she lost her husband in the June 2 attack by dismissed Finance employee Jessie Carlos.

Briones' husband and 36 other guests and employees died from suffocation after Carlos torched gaming tables inside the casino where they were trapped.

"Wala naman akong masabi, maayos naman lahat sila. Lahat ng ano, sinagot nila 'yon but hindi lang hanggang doon," Briones said.

"Binigay sa anak ko, di ako nakikipagusap, but no waiver, no everything, no commitment. Lahat ng pangangailangan ko, from day one up to the end, sila lahat ang sasagot. Pasalamat naman po ko sa Resorts World, inaasikaso naman po ako ng mabuti," she added.

Briones, however, called on the officials of the hotel-casino to also provide aid to the rest of the families of the victims, as some of them have reportedly yet to receive help.

"Ang aking pakiusap sa Resorts World, tulungan niyo lahat. 'Di lang po ako, lalo po 'yung mas mababa sa akin," Briones said.

"I want to show support doon sa lahat ng victims din. Siyempre kagaya ko gusto ko may dumadamay sa akin na mga kasama namin na namatayan... Ako ganon din, di ako swapang na sarili ko lang ang iintindihin ko," she added.
