According to a report on Unang Balita on Monday, members of PISTON and the No to Jeepney Phaseout Coalition also had a vigil on Sunday night in front of the office of the LTFRB on East Avenue in Quezon City and lit candles.
Protesters said they are against the government's plan to replace old jeepney units with electronic, solar, and hybrid vehicles.
The LTFRB however has earlier said the agency is merely "modernizing" and not "phasing out" public utility jeepneys. —KG, GMA News
