DILG announces benefits for cops and soldiers killed, wounded in action 


The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced on Friday that soldiers or police officers who were killed or wounded in action would receive financial benefits from the government through the Comprehensive Social Benefits Program (CSBP).

According to a DILG press statement, the CSBP for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) had four levels of assistance.

"A special Finance Assistance (SFA) will be granted in two tranches to the beneficiaries of killed in action (KIA)/killed in police operations (KIPO) in the amount of P500,000; To wounded in action (WIA)/wounded in police operations (WIPO) with total permanent physical disability (TPPD) amounting to P250,000; and to WIA/WIPO with major and minor injuries in the amount of P100,000," the department explained.

Shelter assistance worth P450,000 would also be provided families, as well as health care assistance worth P2,400 per year and maintenance medicines. — Anna Felicia Bajo/DVM, GMA News
