Duterte meets Misuari in Davao City

President Rodrigo Duterte met with Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) founding chairman Nur Misuari and his family in Davao City. 

The meeting happened at the Presidential Guest House on Monday night, the eve of Duterte's 72nd birthday. 

Misuari was joined by his wife Tarhata and son Abdulkarim during the meeting.

Later at a news briefing, presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said Duterte and Misuari discussed the challenges in Mindanao.

“Basically, it was a reaffirmation of the importance of securing just and lasting peace and development for Mindanao. It was warm, cordial, positive,” Abella said. — Trisha Macas/RSJ, GMA News
