Ex-senator Leticia Ramos-Shahani's wake open to public –daughter

Friends, colleagues and supporters will be given a chance to pay their final respects to the late Senator Leticia Ramos-Shahani as her wake will be open to the public starting March 22.

Ramos-Shahani's daughter, Lila Shahani, confirmed this in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB on Monday.

“Anim na araw 'yung wake. Magsisimula 'yung Day 1 sa Wednesday sa Funeraria Paz sa Sucat, which is in Manila Memorial Park. The door is open from 10 a.m. to 12 midnight,” Lila Shahani said.

Following the public viewing in Funeraria Paz, Ramos-Shahani’s remains will be brought to the Senate in Pasay City on Thursday, March 23, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) main office on Friday afternoon, March 24, and to the Cosmopolitan Church along Taft Avenue on Friday evening.

“'Yung hindi lang open, 'yung sa Senate, sa DFA dahil hindi naman namin mako-control 'yung mga pintuan doon. Sa Day 2 and Day 3, that's for the Senate and DFA staff,” Lila Shahani said.

The late senator’s remains will be brought back to Funeraria Paz on Saturday where they would stay until Monday next week.

“‘Yung pinaka-last na day, sa Monday, that's for family na,” Lila Shahani said.

FVR already informed

Lila, in the interview, said she has already informed former President Fidel Ramos, the late senator’s brother, about her mother’s passing.

“Tinawagan ko siya. Malungkot na malungkot,” Lila said when asked about the former president’s reaction.

“Pero ini-expect naman kasi namin na mangyayari na eh. Pero alam mo na, you hope against hope. You're always praying na hindi mangyari 'yung alam mong mangyayari na,” she added.
