Erap 'daughter' refused entry to Tanay resthouse

A woman who claimed to be a daughter of former President Joseph Estrada was refused entry to the resthouse in Tanay where the former president has been detained. The name of Josephine Rose “JR" Estrada was not on the list of immediate family members who are allowed to visit the former president. The former Ms Caloocan said she has no ill feelings against the ousted leader although she joined the “people power" in 2001 that led to the ouster of Estrada. The antigraft court Sandiganbayan on Wednesday will hand down a verdict on the plunder charges filed against Estrada. “Pumunta ako sa Edsa Dos....Noong time na yun, immature pa kasi ako, so para sa akin gumanti lang ako. Pero ngayon na-realize ko na mali pala talaga yung ginawa ko," JR said. She said she is willing to have DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) test to prove that she is Estrada’s daughter. She said she wanted Estrada to be found not guilty of the charges he is facing. “Huwag naman sana (ma-convict), huwag naman. Ayokong isipin na mako-convict siya," she said. She asked a GMA News team to accompany her to Tanay to visit Estrada but she was refused entry to the resthouse. “Kahit gusto [ni Estrada] humarap, hindi siya makakaharap. Nasa kwarto lang siya nakakulong. Hindi sa kanya yung desisyon," a woman, who claimed to be the former president’s secretary, told the GMA News team. “Bakit kaya? Hindi naman ako masama. Gusto ko lang i-prove sa kanila na hindi ako lumabas dahil gusto kong magpasikat," JR said. She said she will just watch television on Wednesday to see the verdict on the Estrada plunder case. - Amita Legaspi, GMANews.TV
