Former Mayor Mel Lopez’s remains brought to Sto Niño de Tondo Church

The remains of former Manila Mayor Mel Lopez have been transferred to the Sto. Niño de Tondo Church where he had been a longtime devotee, "24 Oras" reported Wednesday.

Lopez's son Manila Rep. Manny Lopez said the former mayor grew up in Tondo.

The younger Lopez recalled that his father always wanted to see the improvement of the city of Manila and upliftment of the of its residents.

Lopez, 81, died on January 1 due to cardiac arrest.N
