Army hopes guns silent across PHL during Pacquiao fight

The Philippine Army on Saturday said it is hoping the fight of Lt. Col. Manny Pacquiao on Sunday will again "bring silence to all guns" across the country.

"We hope that the fight will again bring silence to tall guns, giving more spaces to peace across the our land," Philippine  Army spokesman Lt. Col. Benjamin Hao said in a statement.

Pacquiao, now a sitting senator, is a reserve officer of the Philippine Army.

Hao said the Army troops around the country have high hopes that Pacquiao will win in his fight against Jessie Vargas in Las Vegas.

Police usually record "zero crime" during fights of Pacquiao. —ALG, GMA News
