Xi Jinping formally welcomes Duterte in China

BEIJING - President Rodrigo Duterte has arrived at the Great Hall of the People for a series of bilateral meetings with China's top leaders.

President Xi Jinping led the welcome ceremony for Duterte on Thursday at the East Plaza beside the Tiananmen Square. Duterte arrived at the venue at exactly 10:30 a.m.

Duterte's Cabinet secretaries were also present during the ceremony.

They will proceed to the expanded bilateral talks.

A signing ceremony on the number of trade deals will be sealed.

Duterte will also have bilateral meetings with Premier Li Keqiang and National People's Congress chairman Zhang Dejiang. —KG, GMA News
