Ready to die, Matobato says he leaves his fate up to God

Confessed hitman Edgar Matobato said he leaves his fate up to God as he was about to be turned over to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Friday.

Matobato said he wasn’t afraid for his life, even after he implicated PNP chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa in alleged killings in Davao City.

Matobato was turned over to the PNP headquarters by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV after an arrest warrant was issued against him by a Davao court.

The warrant was in relation to an illegal possession of firearms case filed against Matobato in 2014. It was issued after he failed to show up at his arraignment Tuesday.

Senator Trillanes secured the safety of Matobato since he surfaced to testify on the alleged extrajudicial killings in Davao City under the term of former mayor and now President Rodrigo Durterte. —KG, GMA News
