PNP chief Dela Rosa to resign if anti-drug drive fails
Philippine National Police chief director general Ronald dela Rosa on Sunday said he is ready to resign as police chief if the campaign against illegal drugs fails.
Dela Rosa made the statement during his visit to the Ilocos Norte police provincial office, GMA News' stringer Dennis Alipio said.
Dela Rosa visited police offices in Isabela and Cagayan before dropping by Ilocos Norte.
In his visits, Dela Rosa convinced provincial police commands to take the campaign against illegal drugs and criminality seriously.
The PNP chief was quoted as saying that he will step down as police chief if the anti-drug campaign fails.
He also reiterated his warning to scalawags that they better resign if they have links to the illegal drug trade.
Dela Rosa told GMA News that some police officials in Ilocos Norte are on President Rodrigo Duterte's narco list, and that more names might still be added up to it.
At the close of the visit, Dela Rosa was joined by Governor Imee Marcos in a boodle fight, the report added. —LBG, GMA News
