‘ENOUGH OF POKEMON’

Wilma Tiamzon to youth: Hunt for real-life monsters in Revolution Go

One of the communist leaders who were freed on Friday lost no time in pushing for the revolution among the country's youth.

Wilma Tiamzon, the secretary-general of the Communist Party of the Philippines who was freed on bail on Friday morning, called on young Filipinos to go after real-life monsters instead of Pokemon.

Instead of playing Pokemon Go, she said, the youth should push for "Revolution Go."

“Para sa mga kabataang Pilipino at sambayanan na nahuhumaling sa paghuli sa mga monster sa Pokemon Go, alam ninyo, marami din monster sa ating lipunan na kailangan natin labanan," Tiamzon said in a news conference in the afternoon.

"Sa halip na PokemonGo, maganda sana Revolution Go!” she said.

Tiamzon, nonetheless, expressed deference to President Rodrigo Duterte, who communist leaders thanked for facilitating the release of political prisoners and National Democratic Front consultants like her.

“Hindi naman po siguro magagalit si Pangulong Duterte dahil galit din siya sa mga monsters sa gobyerno,” Tiamzon said.

Tiamzon and her husband Benito, the chairman of the CPP, were freed on bail on Friday afternoon.

They and several other communist leaders and NDF consultants are slated to join the resumption of the peace talks in Oslo over the weekend. —NB, GMA News
