Why young Duterte had a room separate from family house
President-elect Rodrigo Duterte's parents had for him a room separate from the family's main house when they transferred to Davao City while he was still a teenager, Ian Cruz reported on GMA News' "24 Oras" on Monday.
“Hiwalay na lang siya doon kasi umuuwi ng gabi, barkada. All that thing. Maingay. You know, we have to open the door and we will wake up our parents. It’s not any different from any family,” said Duterte's elder sister Eleanor or Baby.
Baby said she always advised the longtime Davao City mayor to remain the same and stay true to their family values.
“That he remains the same persona that his parents raised him. The way we were raised is already embedded in us,” she said.
Baby said that she will not hold any government position as a presidential sister, but assured that the Duterte siblings will always be ready to lend a hand to the next President of the Philippines. —Trisha Macas/NB/KG, GMA News
