All political candidates are required to submit Statements of Contribution and Expenditures 30 days after election.
Among the presidential and vice presidential candidates in the May 9 polls, all managed to meet the June 8 deadline for submitting SOCEs, except for Liberal Party standard-bearer Mar Roxas.
President-elect Rodrigo Duterte received the third highest amount of contributions (P375,009,474.90) among the five presidential bets.
He also had the third highest campaign spending ( P371,461,480.23).
The two presidential candidates who received the highest amount of contributions were Sen. Grace Poe (P511,950,000) and Vice President Jejomar Binay (P463,453,000).
They were also the two biggest presidential campaign spenders: P510,845,262.56 for Poe and P463,375,216.37 for Binay.
Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago received the lowest amount of contributions (P74,652,689.87) and also had the lowest presidential campaign spending (P74,652,689.84).
Meanwhile, among the vice presidential candidates, winning bet, Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo, received the highest amount of contributions (P423.1 million) and also spent the highest amount for her campaign (P418.6 million).
The VP candidate who received the least amount of contributions (P25,963,450.00) and least amount of expenses was (P26,259,899.20) was Sen. Gregorio Honasan, who also placed last in the VP race. — Veronica Pulumbarit and Jannielyn Bigtas/RSJ, GMA News
